All About Mrs. Scelia
Hello! My name is Mrs. Scelia.
This will be my 6th year at Aiken School. I have taught both Kindergarten and First Grade. I love teaching 1st grade because I enjoy being a part in your child's reading success! To me, first grade is magical! I love to see student's eyes light up when they read a book that was once tricky for them. One of my favorite things about working at Aiken is that we set individual goals at the beginning of the year. Then, at the end the students look at their writing from way back in September. What a difference!
When I'm not at school teaching, I'm learrning! Yes...learning NEVER stops. I love taking new classes about reading and technology. I also love to READ READ READ!! Sometimes when I am reading a book I look up and realize that two hours have gone by.
Last year I spent some of they year at home with my little baby, Troy. He was born January 20th and is our first baby. He loves to talk to his daddy and read books with me in his rocking chair. His favorite thing to do right now is look in the mirror!
My husband, Troy, and I also love spending time with our two little puppies, Toby and Lily. I love to tell my students all about my little pups - so be prepared to hear about Toby and Lily's adventures! I have two brothers who are both older than me, Ryan and Gregg. They both have dogs as well - so family gatherings are quite exciting!
