Reading Corner
This page will contain many resources for parents as well as students at home as they become the best readers they can be. I hope you find this site useful!
FUNdations
We use the FUNdations program to teach phonics. Students are taught to segment and blend words. The units that are taught teach your child how to decode words with different sounds.
Sight Words
Sight Words are the words that POP up most frequently in books. Your child should know these words right away. Typically these words are difficult to sound out. Please visit my Sight Word Website to find valuable resources to work with your child.
Some children will be bringing home a WORD RING each day. On their Word Please refer to my WORD RING WEBSITE for more information regarding word rings.
**Remember - The more sight words your child knows, the less words they will get stuck on when they are reading! They can focus more of their attention on those really tricky words!
