Just a few Winter Updates (yes..Winter!!)
When it snows we still go outside for recess (as long as it is warm enough). If students would like to play in the snow they need to bring their winter bags. The winter bag should have boots, snow pants, and mittens. Students may also want to pack a hat! Students should know (or practice) putting on their snow clothes at home. Please be sure to label EVERYTHING! Especially, and most importantly, mittens/gloves. You can use a permanent marker to label mittens/gloves. If you have the thick ones for the snow that are a dark color you can you use a silver permanent marker. I used this for my son’s gloves last year and we still have them! I’m more than happy to label your child’s mittens and gloves, just send in a note with your permission. Trust me - it’s worth it!
In the past I have found it helpful for student’s to bring in a chapstick and leave it in their backpack (in the same small pocket they had used for their word ring). Please LABEL the chapstick!
